Rated 5 out of 5 by from eddy 1L This was advertised as spill proof and leak proof (not for carbonated beverages though). I have dropped this many times already (I am clumsy) and there was no breakage, spilling or leaking. If there are only a couple sips left in the bottle, you have to remove the top to get to them, which is fine. I don't have the whistling that I've heard about on some reviews. I'm planning on getting more. Even though I like the chute lid too, I like the eddy lid MUCH better. It takes a tiny bit to get used to biting it as you suck the liquid out, but not that much really. The only thing I don't like about it is that the 1L does not fit on the top rack of the dishwasher.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Leaky by Design I purchased this bottle for its capacity and with a name like Camelbak I trusted the bottle to be made to last. One MAJOR defect in the bottle is the way the water flow out of the mouth piece if the liquid inside the bottle is cold. If you enjoy lukewarm-hot water in your bottle then this bottle will serve you well. If your like me and enjoy cool-cold water you will want to keep looking for another bottle. If I leave the bottle unattended for about 10 minutes with cool water in it and the bottle is in a room temperature environment the water begins coming back up the straw and out of the bottle. It seems to be a design flaw since there is no hole to allow the pressure to equalize inside the bottle. Hoping the company fixes the issue. I won't be buying another one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Bottle but wish the valve were like the kids model I love almost everything about this bottle. Size is great, materials are strong and price is reasonable. BUT I wish there weren't a small, soft plastic piece that remained in the cap after the straw and bite valve are removed. After daily use over a long period of time I feel like gunk is building up in there that I can not clean. It is not removed by the dishwasher and impossible to reach as this part does not come out. I have a kid's Eddy for my son and the entire soft plastic valve comes out making it easier to clean (and replace if necessary) I wonder why the design is different for the larger eddy. (and yes the cap is cleaned regularly, but the bottle is 24-7)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyer Beware Bought an Eddy about a year ago due to the larger (33oz) capacity. That one started to leak, and would often "explode" sending water shooting out the bite valve, especially if I left it in the closed position for over an hour. I tried to reset the seal, but would need to do so every 15 minutes or it would still leak. Finally gave up a week ago and purchased a new Eddy, even though I was not satisfied with the first one. Now, after one week, the carrying handle is starting to separate from the cap. In my opinion, these bottles are a complete waste of time and money. I will be returning this new bottle to the store and will now get a basic Nalgene screw on cap water bottle. I will never again buy another Camelbak product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Customer Service I love camelbak water bottles; unfortunately, I have a propensity to lose them. I always get a new one when I lose them because I love them so much. However, the hinge on the mouth piece for the newest one I got quickly stoped working. I was surprised because this has never happened before, and I assume it just a defective lid. However, the cusomer service was excellent! All I had to do was fill out a warranty claim on their website and today I recieved my new cap in the mail (fairly quickly). I love the waterbottles, and now I also love the customer service!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Love the size, but.... The concept of the waterbottle is good, but the execution is VERY poor. If left to sit with water in it and you haven't taken a drink in several minutes, it will SHOOT water out of the nozzle when opened or it will slowly leak out of the spout...so frustrating. To make it even more frustrating, the top where the straw and nozzle are located are VERY difficult to clean. I was finding black junk after one week of use. Definitely disappointed after spending $16. Going back to my Klean Kanteen bottle.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from TERRIBLE I got this water bottle from a friend and it worked great for the first two months. Then all of the sudden, it started leaking! I take it to school every day because it is the only water bottle I currently have. I can't even put it on my desk or all of my papers get soaked, and when I do drink from it, it all comes flooding out of the top. It leaks EVERY time I use it! People pay $16 for a WATER BOTTLE because they expect it to be great! If I want to pay $16 for a WATER BOTTLE, there better not be any flaws. I could pay $5 for one at the dollar store and it would have better quality then this piece of junk. Oh, and don't tell me there is a difference between SPILLING and LEAKING. Either way there is water coming out of it, and I have knocked it over before...and guess what happened? IT SPILLED.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyer Beware - MOLD! Terrible product. It seems solely to sell their [very needed] accessories of special shaped cleaning brushes and replacement bite valve mouth pieces ($10). With one month of use, despite cleaning in a dishwasher, mold grows inside. One would think Camelbak's accessory brushes would remove the mold but it actually grows WITHIN the silicone rubber. Eww. So onto plan B - replace the bite nib (which is removeable) or the whole nib and straw. That would be fine except they are quickly running out of stock in the usual places AND they are $10.
